The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the National Youth Service Corps(NYSC) in Ekiti state on Friday matched against corruption in the state.
The zonal officials of the commission from Ibadan, over 500 corps members and other members of the public participated in the anti-corruption walk tagged,” Nigerian Youths Match Against Corruption’
The walk which commenced from the popular Fajuyi park moved through Ojumose to the palace, through Oke-Iyinmi terminated at the Fajuyi park in Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti state capital.
Speaking during the match, the Sectional Head, Counter-Terrorism and General Investigation of Ibadan zonal office of the EFCC, Juliet Odogwu said the commission was determined to stamp out corruption in the system hence the collaboration with the NYSC.
She noted that the anti-corruption fight of the federal government should be embraced by every citizen in the country so as to enable government at all levels to provide the needed dividends of democracy to the people.

Odogwu who advised youths in the country to eshew cybercrime and other quick money syndromes, saying, ” with hard work I believe you will have all that you desire in life.”
According to her, ” We believe our youths have a critical role to play in ending the scourge of corruption in our society and that is the reason why we are collaborating with the NYSC in propagating this our message.
” The Fight against corruption is not only the work of the EFCC, but it should also be the business of every citizen and we must come together to end corruption in the overall interest of the country.
” It is our believe that corps members are in every nooks and cranny and they will help us in getting across to many people in society.
“We also use this opportunity to advise our youths to avoid all unwholesome act regarding wealth acquisition. Say no to cybercrimes, say no to Yahoo Yahoo. I want to tell you that hardwork pays.”
Speaking, the state coordinator of NYSC, Mrs Emmanuella Okpongete represented by Mrs Hellen Fagbemi commended EFCC for the programme aimed towards ending corruption in the society, adding that Nigerians must not leave the fight to the commission alone.
Fagbemi, who is the Assistant Director in charge of Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) noted that the role of youths in the unity and progress of the country cannot be overemphasized, adding that ” they have a critical role to play in stemming the corruption tid so it will not destroy our country.”
