Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ilorin Zonal Directorate, have arrested no fewer than 44 suspected internet fraudsters in Kwara State.
This was disclosed in a statement released by the financial crimes body via its verified Facebook account on Friday.
According to the statement, the suspected fraudsters were arrested at different locations in Ilorin, the capital of Kwara State, on Friday, 6 September 2024.
Some of the items recovered from the suspects include six different brands of exotic cars, laptops, smartphones, and charms.
The statement added that the suspects would be charged in court upon the conclusion of investigations.
The statement partly reads, “They were arrested on Friday, September 6, 2024, at Sango, Kulende, Taxaco and Harmony Estate, all in Ilorin, following credible intelligence over their alleged involvement in internet-related offences.”
The arrests come just two days after the Ilorin Directorate apprehended 56 suspected internet fraudsters in a similar development.
