THE chairman of the Road Transport Employers’ Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) in Edo State, Comrade Sunday Erhahon, has dispelled rumours of his alleged suspension, stating that he remained the head of the transport union in the state.

He stated that a group of persons, who were not registered members of RTEAN carried out false media propaganda to discredit his leadership, adding that despite the attempt, he has continued to enjoy the confidence and support of majority of RTEAN members across Edo State.
The Edo RTEAN boss said at no time was he served any suspension letter and he has never ceased to perform his role as RTEAN chairman in Edo State.
He recalled that he was unanimously elected chairman of the transport union and that his five-year tenure has not ended.
At the press briefing, the Edo North and Edo Central coordinators of RTEAN, Comrade Charles Momoh and Comrade Sylvester Iyere respectively, along with the acting state secretary of RTEAN, Comrade Collins Okundaye, affirmed their confidence and that of Edo RTEAN members in the leadership of Comrade Erhahon.
Comrade Momoh explained that members will resist any attempt by any person or group of persons to effect regime change in RTEAN without recourse to due process.
