The Edo State Police Command has arrested a 21-year-old guy named Ononomeh Badamasi for his involvement with the death of a 52-year-old man named Orumidayo Awolowo, who went to demand money owed him.
The incident is claimed to have occurred in the Ogbeh community of the state’s Igarra Akoko-Edo Local Government Area.
SP Chidi Nwabuzor, the state Police Public Relations Officer, said this in an interview on Monday.
He stated that Igarra Police Division officers apprehended the suspect in response to a complaint from the deceased’s brother, who stated that the suspect purchased a knife from the deceased and failed to pay the money, and that the incident occurred when the deceased sought to be paid.
Nwabuzor said, “The Edo State Police Command has arrested Ononomeh Badamasi for allegedly killing a 52-year-old man, Orumidayo Awolowo, who went to demand money owed him.
“A fight was said to have ensued between the two and the deceased was said to have fallen and died.”
According to him, the police raided the site and discovered that three houses and one motorcycle had been set on fire due to the incident.
According to the PPRO, the suspect confessed to the crime, and the body was taken to a mortuary for autopsy.
