A gubernatorial aspirant on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Felix Ehiguese Akhabue, received royal blessings from traditional rulers in the Edo Central Senatorial District on Thursday.
Speaking at the Onojie of Ekpoma palace, HRH Anthony Abumere II, Akhabue revealed that his visit to the royal fathers was to seek their blessings and support for his aspiration in the 2024 gubernatorial poll in Edo.
He remarked that the royal fathers play a vital role in the security of lives, peace, progress, and land development.
The gubernatorial aspirant further disclosed that his consultation is based on his firm belief in the saying, “Charity Begins at Home,” and he has come to inform his fathers of his desire to take over the mantle of leadership as the Governor of the State.
Akhabue assured that if elected, he would do everything possible to revolutionize all sectors of the state to enhance the people’s standard of living, particularly ensuring the development of rural areas.
He stressed the need to put an end to rural-urban migration through the provision of access roads in various communities in the state.
The gubernatorial aspirant also promised to provide other social amenities in rural areas and cities when elected into office as Governor.
Speaking on behalf of the Enigie of Esanland, the Onojie of Uromi, HRM Zaiki Anselm Eidenojie II, extolled the leadership qualities of the aspirant, describing Akhabue as a household name in Edo.
He advised him to carry on his campaign with decorum and respect for the electioneering processes throughout the period.
On his part, the Onijie of Igueben Kingdom, HRM Zaiki Ehizojie Eluojierior 1, maintained that Akhabue is a sellable product for any political party that wants to win an election in the state.
