Edo guber: APC praises party leader over electoral performance in Ovia

For the outstanding performance of the party in Ofunmwegbe Ward 5 of OVIA North-East Local Government Area of Edo State, the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the locality has commended Charity Amayaenvbo for the role he played in ensuring a landslide victory for the party in the just concluded Edo governorship election at the ward.

At a post-election leadership meeting held on Friday in Igiuero community, the leaders of the party commended the performance of the ward and hailed the uncommon loyalty of Amayaenvb to the APC.

Some of the leaders in the meeting included Bakare Idowu, Dr. Imasuen Festus, Alfred Omoregie, Uwuigbe Success and others.

Ofunmwegbe Ward 5 had emerged best performing ward among the 13 wards in Ovia North-East Local government area in the election scoring a total of APC 960 votes, to defeat the People Democratic Party, PDP that recorded 388 votes and Labour Party with 42 votes, with a net difference APC won the ward ( Ofunmwegbe) with 572 Votes.

The APC leadership in the area also noted that at the Unit level in the whole of Ovia North-East Local Government Area, Ofunmwegbe Ward 5 also came first in Iguero Oba Ewuare II Primary School Unit 13 with the APC 227 votes, PDP 019 votes and LP 04 votes.

Amayaenvbo who is the leader of the party in the ward ,the APC leadership noted that he showed good example in grassroot politics, noting that the APC leaded, in his unit 12 voting centre, at Iguero Oba Ewuare II, he garnered 99 votes for the APC, whereas the PDP only got 34 votes, and Labour Party, one vote.

One of the leaders who is the Ward Chairman, Mr Imalele Stephen, said but “for Hon Charity Amayaenvbo working with other leaders, APC would have lost Ofunmwegbe Ward.

“Amayanvbo and other leaders stood their ground and ensured that the oppressors could not intimidate and suppress the votes of the APC in Ofunmwegbe ward,” Stephen added.

The Ovia North-East leadership congratulated the governor-elect Senator Monday Okpebholo and deputy governor-elect, Dennis Idahosa, for their victory at the poll and expressed optimism that a new Edo that would be the envy of other states would rise soon.

It noted that the ward victory party to celebrate the victory of Okpebholo and Ovia’s illustrious son, Idahosa as governor and deputy governor of Edo State would hold on October 1, 2024.
