An Edo State-born content creator, Osemwota Efe, also known as FunnyP, has issued a warning to content creators in Nigeria, particularly prank skit makers, urging them to adhere to acceptable standards and avoid off-mark pranks.
Efe, a graduate of International Studies and Diplomacy, emphasized the importance of consistency and creativity in captivating audiences and achieving success in the nation’s entertainment industry, given the abundance of talent in the country.
Speaking in Benin City, the capital of Edo State, Efe, who also goes by the stage names “Pluto Presido” and “Angel Wey Dey Bleach,” cautioned against the use of inappropriate or offensive content in comedy skits.
He stressed that eliciting laughter from the audience requires skill and sensitivity, noting that humour and laughter are essential elements of life, without which the world would be dull.
The sensational entertainer behind the HomeOfLafta brand posited that it required consistency and a streak of creativity to captivate audiences and attain success in content creation; stressing that such traits were essential to building a thriving brand
“I started out with the intention of making people laugh and passing messages using ordinary day-to-day occurrences. Over time, I have built my craft and have started to structure my talent to attract different audiences”. He said.
FunyP recently added another feather to his entertainment cap as he is currently trending in all social media handles with his latest brand – the Pluto Presido, a series aimed at expressing and bringing out the unique lifestyles of youths who call themselves Plutomanians
According to the CEO of HomeOfLafta, the series has become the darling of young people both in Nigeria and beyond on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Twitter, YouTube, and Whatsapp
Acknowledging that no man is an island on his own, the HomeOfLafta promoter said, ” I have learnt from my colleagues in the industry and will continue to refine my craft so as to appeal better to the audience”.
“It is important to carve a niche for oneself by churning out top-notch productions at every outing so as to stand out”, he added.

This was just as he acknowledged that the HomeOfLafta brand had developed a unique touch to its contents over the years, establishing partnerships and collaborations with other notable skitmakers across Nigeria, to deliver world-class content to his followers across various platforms
The Pluto Presido also used the opportunity to offer words of caution to practitioners and upcoming skitmakers to adhere to acceptable standards.
“While everyone is at liberty to choose what works best for them, it is also pertinent for skitmakers and those who produce pranks to exercise caution.
“Some skits can get really dangerous and we have seen instances where contexts were not taken into account when people made skits.” He cautioned.
This, according to FunyP, “This is why some of my colleagues have gotten into trouble. We need self-censorship and that is what is required to avoid running foul of the law and to respect the sensibility of our followers.”
FunyP is one name in the entertainment industry who has deployed his skills in comedy, skits-making, innocent jokes, biting sarcasm and satires to spread love and laughter across Nigeria and beyond.
He first took the industry by surprise with his HomeOfLafta brand which produced ace comedians and content creators like Eduado Untamed, Medica Live, Just Comedy With FunyP and a host of others.
