Easter: Oba Yoruba of Kano felicitates with Christians

The Oba Yoruba of Kano State, Alhaji (Dr) Murtala Alimi Otisese (Adetimirin1), in his message to Christians on the celebration of Easter, has called on them to always continue to pray for the country. He added that with collective prayers, the present problems bedeviling the country will soon be forgotten.

According to him, “What Jesus Christ preached when alive is love for mankind irrespective of religion or culture. This is what the scripture also tells us – that Christians have to do.”

Making this assertion while speaking on the Easter celebration, Alhaji Otisese said that the scripture also teaches us to pray for our leaders, noting that this is necessary so that the leaders would be guided by Almighty Allah in their quest to move the country forward.

He then urged Christians to always bear in mind that both Christians and Muslims belong to the handiwork of Almighty Allah, hence both religions should see themselves as unique.

Oba Yoruba Kano, however, noted that while there were hardships in the country, with the collective and concerted efforts of both Christians and Muslims, all things were possible, and things would soon turn around for good in Nigeria.

Dr. Otisese added that the country is blessed with milk and honey, and whatever we citizens are presently going through may be a test to our faith. With patience and endurance, our leaders will certainly carry us to paradise.

“I believe the country will regain its lost glory, hence the need for both Christians and Muslims to keep praying for Almighty Allah to answer our prayers. God is not a human being; He will answer our prayers. Therefore, we need to stay focused and have faith in God.”
