THE Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers (NCRIB) has requested for assistance from the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in enforcing the e-insurance certificates.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by Babatunde Oguntade, President of NCRIB.
According to him, the request was made during a courtesy visit to the management of the FRSC.
Oguntade stressed the importance of the FRSC’s support in ensuring the validity, currency and other critical details of insurance certificates.
He reiterated that insurance brokers play important role in ensuring that individuals and corporate bodies receive maximum value from their insurance policies.
The NCRIB advised Nigerians to utilise the services of registered insurance brokers because many people who encounter issues with their insurance failed to engage the expertise of registered brokers.
Oguntade lauded the FRSC for its efforts in reducing road accidents nationwide, noting that the works of the FRSC have helped to reduce the number of deaths and injuries resulting from road accidents.
The NCRIB boss pointed out that the operations of the FRSC had enhanced compliance with necessary automobile documentations, including third-party motor insurance, thereby benefiting the insurance industry.
Responding, Deputy Corps Marshal, Administration and Human Resources, Victor Nwokolo, applauded NCRIB and its members for providing the necessary insurance and risk management support to the Corps.
Nwokolo assured that the FRSC would take necessary measures against those violating road regulations, including those in the insurance industry and promised to partner with the NCRIB on its proposed public sector training, which focuses on enhancing the quality of manpower within the corps.
