One of the two best-graduating students of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) for the 2023/2024 academic session, Samuel Akinade Badekale, has celebrated his academic milestone of graduating with a perfect CGPA.
Badekale, a student of the Department of Cell Biology and Genetics, alongside another student from the same department, Damilare Haroon Adebakin, graduated as the overall best students at the institution’s 55th convocation after achieving a perfect CGPA of 5.00 each.
Taking to his X account on Thursday to celebrate the achievement, Badekale extended gratitude to God for the milestone.
According to him, his academic success is a testament to the fact that dreams come true.
He tweeted, “This is a testament that dreams come true! B.Sc Cell Biology and Genetics with perfect CGPA (5.00/5.00) ✅ Overall Best Graduating Student 2023/2024 @UnilagNigeria 🎓 Numerous awards & records broken. God did it! Proverbs 22:29 #unilag #UNILAG2024Convocation.”
Tribune Online reports earlier that the institution’s Department of Mass Communication made history by producing 18 all-female first-class graduates during the 2023/2024 academic session.
The remarkable feat was unveiled during the award of first-degree honours at the university’s 55th convocation ceremony, which commenced on Tuesday.
The convocation, which spanned three days, saw 16,590 students conferred with degrees and diplomas. Of this number, 9,865 received first degrees and diplomas, while 6,659 were awarded postgraduate degrees. Additionally, 66 students graduated from the UNILAG Business School (ULBS).
