Drama as Jigawa commissioners, SAs clash over seats

Published by

A tense scene played out at the Jigawa State Council Chamber during a courtesy visit by the House of Representatives Committee on Ecological Fund.

The issue began when special assistants occupied seats reserved for government officials, leaving commissioners standing.

The affected commissioners included those of Special Duties, Water Resources, Health, Education, and Justice, as well as other officials like the Special Adviser on Security and APC Assistant Chairman.

Upon entering the chamber, the Chief of Staff, Senator Mujitapha Makama, directed the Special Adviser on Security to order the special assistants to vacate the front seats for the commissioners.

Initially, the special assistants refused to move, but eventually relented after the SA on Security insisted. They vacated the seats with visible displeasure, highlighting a breach of government protocol and sparking tension among officials.
