This was the admonition of the state chairman of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Apostle David Otaru, at the inauguration and induction of new executive members of the Christian body, in Ogun State.
He bemoaned the alleged vote buying in the governorship election in Ekiti State, noting that if the trend is allowed in the 2019 elections, the electorate might not elect credible leaders.
Otaru also appealed to politicians not to “buy the conscience of the people,” because they were desperate for power.

He said: “I appeal to the political leaders of this country to stop the idea of buying votes. Now that the 2019 elections are around the corner, I appeal to every Nigerian to vote according to their conscience.
“I also want to advise politicians to play politics without bitterness. The primary purpose of leadership is to serve and if you lose an election, you can always come back next time. The state and the nation as it remains, stands forever.”
