Speaker, House of Representatives, Honourable Yakubu Dogara on Tuesday ordered committees chairmen in the House who are yet to submit their committees’ report to the House committee on Appropriation to comply before Thursday or face sanction.
The Speaker who handed down the ultimatum at the commencement of Tuesday’s plenary said that “for those committees’ that fail to submit their report on Thursday they are on their own.”
He maintained that, the report should be submitted to the House committee on Appropriation.
It will be recalled that the Chairman, House committee on Media and Public Affairs, Hon Abdulrazak Namdas had hinted that passage of 2017 budget by March ending was not sacrosanct.
The lawmaker had said that this was due to the new software being used for the 2017 budget by the House.
