Published by

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bauchi State, Hon. Musa Zango, Chairman of Kauran Bauchi Frontiers, has refuted every claims that former Speaker Yakubu Dogara was instrumental in the emergence of Sen. Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir as the elected Governor of Bauchi State.

Hon. Musa Zango made this assertion during an interactive session with selected journalists in Bauchi on Friday, where he expressed his unwavering support for Governor Bala Mohammed’s critique of President Bola Tinubu’s administration and the upcoming 2027 general elections.

While acknowledging that having a strong opposition is important in a democracy, he emphasized that it should be done with respect for the office and person of the Governor, rather than attempting to undermine him.

He responded to what he described as false claims from a group calling themselves RT Hon. Dogara Yakubu beneficiaries, who asserted that without Dogara’s support, Sen. Bala would not have become the Governor of Bauchi State.

Zango also refuted other claims by the group, such as Dogara’s role in the election of former Governor M.A. Abubakar, and the assertion that Dogara played a key part in restoring peace in Tafawa Balewa and Bogoro LGAs.

He further criticized the group’s claims of having over 40,000 members, challenging them to provide evidence of their membership and operations.

Zango emphasized that the election of Governor Bala Mohammed in 2019 was a collective effort, with Bala Mohammed leading the movement. He rejected the notion that Dogara played a decisive role, stating that the 2023 election, where Bala was re-elected despite opposition, further disproves such claims.

He also dismissed the group’s assertion that Dogara was responsible for the lasting peace in Tafawa Balewa, attributing the peace to legislative decisions made during the administration of former Governor Isa Yuguda.

Zango concluded by urging President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to appoint Yakubu Dogara as his spokesman to help him remain politically relevant.

He also warned that further attacks on Governor Bala Mohammed would lead to the exposure of Dogara’s alleged misdeeds.
