IN view of the security situation in Kogi central, the administrator of Okene local government council, Abdulrazaq Muhammad, has suspended the outing of masquerades of any kind and under any guise within the jurisdiction of the LGA.
He also directed members of Ebira Cultural Union, masquerade custodians, traditional rulers and other stakeholders to henceforth abide by the law.
This was contained in a press statement issued on Sunday by the Special Adviser Media and Publicity to the administrator, Mallam Abdulmumin Abubakar.

According to the statement, the Administrator gave the directive at a security meeting between the Council Administrator, Hon. Abdulrazaq Muhammad, the leadership of Ebira Cultural Union and heads of security agencies in Okene to review security reports and take appropriate decisions.
He cautioned the people not to dare the will of government but adhere strictly to government’s directive as anyone found to have disobeyed this directive irrespective of their position will face the full wrath of the law.
The Council Administrator maintained that government placed the security of lives and property of the citizenry as a matter of top priority and will take every measure within the ambit of the law to ensure the relative peace currently enjoy in the Local Government is sustained.
On this note, security agencies have been detailed and stationed accordingly to implement this directive.
