Big Brother Naija reality star Josephine Otabor, popularly known as Phyna, has voiced her support for prioritising DNA test over traditional naming ceremonies, suggesting it become mandatory right after childbirth.
Her stance comes amid an ongoing debate in Nigeria over the necessity of DNA tests following cases of paternity fraud.
Weighing in on the conversation on her X handle, Phyna endorsed a recent statement by music executive Don Jazzy, who suggested that DNA tests should take precedence over naming ceremonies.
Phyna stated, “I support DNA test over naming ceremony. It should be passed that it is compulsory. Immediately after birth, a DNA test should be carried out.”
