Florence Otedola, popularly known as DJ Cuppy, has ventured into acting with her debut appearance in the new Netflix series ‘Supacell’.
Making a cameo as a disc jockey in the first episode, Cuppy announced her involvement in the series via Instagram, expressing her excitement and gratitude for the opportunity.
She revealed that she had initially reached out to Rapman, the British rapper and director of ‘Supacell’, three years ago, and now she’s thrilled to be part of the groundbreaking production.
“Your girl is a part of a groundbreaking TV show! Three years ago, I took a chance and reached out to Rapman on Twitter, and now look where we are,” Cuppy wrote.
“Today, I proudly claim this small-small role as my acting debut @SupacellNetflixTV is out now! Go and watch.”
‘Supacell’ is a British drama series focusing on black superheroes, tackling significant issues within black communities such as human trafficking, surveillance, and medical exploitation.
Rapman serves as showrunner, creator, writer, and lead director for the series, which premiered in London on June 24.
Aside from her DJ career, DJ Cuppy has gained recognition as a musician with hit singles like ‘Gelato’, ‘Green Light’, ‘Feel Good’, and ‘Vybe’.
She continues to expand her horizons in entertainment and recently became The King’s Trust international ambassador after meeting King Charles III.
