The programme is aimed at making public officers accountable as well as track their performances while executing their campaign promises to the electorates.
The Coordinator/Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Initiative, Saidu Waziri, while briefing journalists about the project said the live programme which is to be beamed live in local stations from the state capital, will also be viewed in several social media platforms on 23rd February, 2018, a week to the Governorship elections.

According to Saidu Waziri, the programme which will go by the name ‘Gombe Debate’ is expected to be the first in entire Northern Nigeria and is intended to provide an avenue for the citizens of Gombe state to have direct interaction with the aspirants to political positions before they are elected.
Saidu Waziri also explained that “Eventually, the Governor-elect, alongside the elected Senators/Federal House reps/state House of Assembly members will be placed on ‘Gombe meter’. A timeline set to monitor the implementation of campaign promises and party manifesto”.
He added that “Our digital screen will track and report unfolding developments to the citizens of Gombe State and the world at large through state of the art mediums of communication.
Key issues to be discussed during the programme will be on the economy, security, health, education among many others and it is hoped that by this innovative initiative, the quality and standard of living of the people will be improved.
