The specific complications may vary between type 1 and type 2 diabetes, but some common areas that can be affected; Diabetes increases the risk of cardiovascular diseases, such as coronary artery disease and heart attack, Stroke, Eyes, Kidneys, Nerves, Feet and Lower Extremities, Skin and the Reproductive System. In addition, when poorly managed, Diabetes can also increase the incidence of infections.
In view of this, it is important for individuals with diabetes to manage their blood sugar levels through lifestyle changes, medication, and regular medical check-ups to reduce the risk of complications and address any emerging issues promptly.
