Developer partners Oyo govt to transform 27,000 acres in Ogbomosoland

Emergence of new city is underway with the proposed development of 2, 500 acres of land as Valor city in Ogbomosoland, Oyo state.

Conducting newsmen round the site, the the Chief Executive Officer of the Valor City, Mr. Debo Thomas Olushola said that he conceived the idea of the  project twenty years ago.

The aim, according to him is to put an end to the rural/urban migration as well create employment opportunities to no fewer that 10000 youths across the 33 local government areas of the state.

Olusola who described entrepreneurship as panacea to the economic crisis in the Country, stressed the need for the private sector to take the driver”s seat.

He, thereby, expressed his readiness to partner with the state government and the relevance Stakeholders to facilitate the speedy  implementation of the project.

According to him, the project, Valor city shares the infrastructural development vision of Governor Seyi Makinde led administration.

Most of the urban cities in the South west are densely populated while the rural areas are left undeveloped. This prompted the idea of the Valor city.

The infrastructural and socio-economic development of the country should not be shouldered by the three tiers of government alone, it is supposed to a collective efforts.

“This is one of the major drive behind the Valor City concept. When completed it will open up the state as well boost the Internally generated revenue.

Some of the features of the proposed Valor city include; water and theme parks, education and vocational centre, resorts, shopping malls, Medical district and Tech volley.

Other features are; Golf course, green and conservation areas, sport academies, renewable energy, ranch farm and City library.

On the power generation and accessibility of the place, he said the company would explore other sources of energy, including wind and solar energy.

Also, the area has been connected to the national grid which according to him would be an added advantage.

On the accessibility and the road network, he disclosed that the area shares boundaries with the Ilorin International Airport and other notable and historical cities in Oyo state.
