Delta: Police arrest teenager for defiling landlady’s two-year-old baby

Published by

A 18-year-old boy, Oghenetejiei Kosini has been arrested over the alleged defilement of a 2-year-old baby girl, his landlady’s daughter.

This was confirmed by Delta State Police Command led by CP Olufemi Abaniwonda

It was gathered that the suspect allegedly defiled the baby on 12 December, 2024.

A source disclosed that the suspect had sneaked in to carried out the ridiculous act while the mother of the baby was busy outside.

Upon discovering the incident, where her baby was bleeding profusely, the child’s mother reported the suspect to the Orerokpe Police Division, leading to his arrest.

However, sources revealed that the suspect arrogantly claimed that nothing would happen after his release by the police.

Following the intervention of human rights activist Comrade Israel Joe, the suspect was re-arrested.

Comrade Joe strongly condemned the act and demanded that the police prosecute the suspect to serve as a deterrent to others.

He criticised the Investigating Police Officer (IPO) handling the case for releasing the suspect on December 24, 2024, in violation of established legal provisions.

He said, “In a quest to frustrate the investigations, the IPO also allegedly refused to give them a form to go for a medical check up at the general hospital with an excuse that the said boy did not deny and had put it down on his statement that he actually did it.”

“Where on earth would the police condescend to a level of not carrying out proper investigation, holding to the confessional statement alone of a suspect that could be denied in court tomorrow?”
