Delta State Government has intervened on eight deplorable federal roads in the state.
The roads include rehabilitation of the failed section of the 74kilometre Agbor-Abraka-Eku road, Warri-Sapele road, Adeola/New Ogorode road in Sapele and dualisation of Sapele road from Amukpe roundabout to AT&P roundabout.

While two of the projects, rehabilitation of Agobr-Eku and Adeola/New Ogorode in Sapele had been completed, the others were ongoing which the commissioner assured would be delivered soon.
Speaking after inspection of some urban and rural road projects in Delta north, Mr Aguoye said the state government had written to the Federal Ministry of Works over the intervention of the roads, seeking a refund of the money spent on the projects.
“We had to intervene on these federal roads because of their importance to the people of the state, we had written them (feder“al government) and we hope to get a refund of the money we appropriated on these roads”.
The roads inspected were the completed Nnebisi road (Cable point road), and the roundabout with street lights in Asaba, the state capital which the commissioner said would be commissioned before the end of the year, reconstruction of the 24kilometers Nsukwa-Ejeme-Owa Alidima-Ndemili rural road of which 14km had been completed, dualisation of Owa Alero-Boji Boji road, the Uteokpu-Owa Alero road, and old Lagos-Asaba road bridge across the railway line at Agbor.
Meanwhile, the Direct Labour Agency (DLA) has commenced work on the final portion of Asaba Ogwashi uku road by the mobile base where the road was almost cut into two by gully erosion.
The agency is also said to have concluded arrangement to fix another failed portion of the Ogwashi uku-Kwale road by the proposed wildlife park axis where gully erosion has also taken a greater toll on the road.
