Aladja People’s Parliament (APP) has commended the member representing the people of Udu/Ughelli North and Ughelli South in the House of Representatives, Honourable Francis Ejiroghene Waive, for the construction of the perimetre fence, renovation of principal and vice principal quarters, four blocks of classrooms, building of toilet facilities and a solar borehole at Aladja Grammar School, Aladja community in Udu Local Government Area of Delta State.
Hon. Bezi Ejovwo Ighotegwolor, Chief Paulson Okobiebi, Chief C.C.I. Wiliki and Mr Ben Taghogho Efeurhobo, who spoke on behalf of Aladja People’s Parliament, noted that the lawmaker began the construction work in the school in December 2024.
The pressure group appreciated him for keeping his promise to his alma mater.
They, however, urged Delta State governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, who is also an Old Boy of the school, to improve the fortunes of the school with hostel facilities, being the first secondary school in Udu Local Government Area.
APP also commended the school’s management led by the principal, Mrs. Doris Otega Okurume and the teachers for doing their best to maintain the facilities in the school.
It also commended Hon. Waive for his efforts in building two blocks of classrooms for Evwrirhe Primary School, Aladja and for influencing the Federal Medical Centre, Ovwian, a neighbouring community to Aladja.
It further noted that since the return of democratic rule in 1999, no member of the House of Representatives has done anything compared to what Waive has done.
“So, we are calling on him to keep the flag flying while also calling on the constituents of the three local government areas of Udu/Ughelli North and Ughelli South to re-elect him in 2027 for more dividends of democracy,” the group charged.
