The Centre for Gender and Development Studies, Delta State University, Abraka, in collaboration with the African Centre for Leadership, Strategy, and Development, Abuja, will hold a two-day maiden conference for directors of gender centres in Nigerian universities.
A statement released by the host/convener and acting director of the Centre for Gender and Development Studies, DELSU Abraka, Dr. (Mrs.) Ufuoma Awhefeada shows that the opening ceremony will take place on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at the 1st 750 Lecture Theatre, Site III, by 10:00 a.m.
The conference, themed “Gender Centres in Nigerian Universities: Impetus for National Development”, will have the Vice Chancellor of DELSU, Abraka, Professor Andy Ogochukwu Egwunyenga, as the Chief Host, and the erudite scholar of Sociology and Gender Studies, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Professor Olabisi I. Aina, as the Guest Speaker.
Events at the conference with germane sub-themes would also be virtually transmitted.
