Yes, it is still possible for a woman to give birth by vaginal delivery after a fibroid operation. However, such women have to remove their fibroids through a procedure called a myomectomy, which involves removing just the fibroids and leaving the rest of the uterus alone. It also depends on how deep the surgeon had to cut into the uterus to remove the fibroids. If your surgeon had to make a deep incision in your uterine wall, the doctor who manages your subsequent pregnancy may recommend caesarean delivery (C-section) to avoid rupture of the uterus during labour, a very rare complication of pregnancy. Even though natural delivery is still possible after a fibroid operation, such deliveries should be done under expert medical supervision in case of last minute resort to caesarean section may be necessary to avoid any complication.
