The Yoruba movie industry was on Friday morning thrown into a mourning mood as a result of the death of veteran comic actor, Kunle Adetokunbo, fondly called Dejo Tunfulu, who died a few weeks to his 50th birthday.
R gathered that Dejo who was famous for his comic roles in Yoruba movies was said to have battled with an undisclosed ailment for sometime now, before he gave up the ghost on Friday morning at a hospital in Lagos State where he had been receiving treatment.
Buried in Ikorodu on Friday afternoon, Dejo Tunfulu was said to have complained of headache and was admitted at a hospital where he died. A source close to the family told R that he was also treated for typhoid but had an underlying health challenge.
Information obtained by R also revealed that the actor who had been ill and had lost significant weight was said to be looking forward to marking his 50th birthday celebration next month, just as some of his colleagues and family members intensified prayers on his behalf to get over his ailment without success.
Dejo Tunfulu, who hailed from Abeokuta, Ogun State, left many of his colleagues asking questions about what could have led to his death? While some of them were aware that he was battling with an undisclosed ailment, others said they were not aware of the condition which kept him moving in and out of the hospital.
His friends and colleagues described his death as shocking and prayed for the repose of his soul as he was laid to rest.
