TRADITIONAL rulers in Gombe State have been tasked on the need maintain the peace, stability and unity in their domains by promptly reporting to appropriate agencies any person or group of people whose activities are capable of disrupting law and order in their domains.
The charge was given by the Governor of Gombe State, Ibrahim Hassan DanKwambo Saturday afternoon during the coronation ceremony and presentation of Staff of Office to the Emir of Pindiga, Alhaji Mohammed Seyoji Ahmed held in Pindiga town, Akko LGA of the State.
According to the Governor, the call became necessary considering the need to remain peaceful in the face of political activities heralding the 2019 general elections as politicians are now moving around the state with their supporters to canvass for votes from the electorates.

Hassan DanKwambo while assuring that his administration will not relent in its responsibilities of protecting the lives and property of the people of the State, promised to ensure the expansion of the Pindiga Water Scheme to reach more villages in the Emirate.
He also assured that major road projects in the area will be completed within the shortest possible time in order to give the area a befitting Outlook it deserves.
In his acceptance speech shortly after receiving the Staff of Office, the Emir of Pindiga, Alhaji Mohammed Seyoji Ahmed thanked Governor Hassan Dankwambo for the opportunity to serve his people again as Emir after he was deposed for nine years (2004-2013) by the previous administration.
While assuring the Governor of his unflinching support to the administration, the Emir called on all and sundry in the Emirate to put hands on deck for the peaceful and harmonious coexistence in the Emirate and the State as a whole.
He also commended the Governor for the electrification of over 50 community settlements which has been completed.
Alhaji Mohammed Seyoji Ahmed, one of the first class Emirs in Gombe State, has spent five years on the throne since 2013. He succeeded his father as the District Head of Pindiga in 1984 at the age of 28 and in 2000, the domain was upgraded to an Emirate.
Former Governor now Senator, Muhammad Danjuma Goje however deposed Seyoji Ahmed from the throne in 2004 and exiled him to Tula town and later Gombe the State capital from that year to 2013 when Governor Hassan Dankwambo returned him back to the throne.
Present at the ceremony were the representatives of the Taraba State Governor, Darius Ishaku, representative of former Defence Minister, Theophilus Danjuma, the Sultan of Damagaram in Niger Republic and a host of other Emirs and Chiefs from Bauchi, Plateau, Borno, Taraba and Yobe States.
