The Northstar Conference 2025, hosted by The Growth Camp and convened by its founder, Damilola Robert, proudly concluded its latest edition with a record-breaking 405 participants from across Africa and beyond, marking a significant increase from 250 attendees in 2024, a testament to the growing influence of the Northstar community. In its journey toward becoming a global hub for professional growth and marketing leadership, the conference has set a new standard for success, demonstrating the immense interest and impact it has on the industry.
A growth and marketing expert and MBA Candidate at Rome Business School, Damilola Robert has been at the forefront of equipping African professionals with the tools to thrive. Through The Growth Camp, a community-driven learning platform, he has trained over 1,000 professionals from eight countries, hosting free monthly online sessions featuring leading experts who share strategies and frameworks for career growth. Northstar Conference is an extension of this mission, designed to convene marketers and growth professionals in person to learn, collaborate, and co-create solutions.
One of the significant highlights of the 2025 conference was its dedication to empowering attendees with practical tools and opportunities. Two lucky participants received brand-new laptops, and cash prizes were awarded to loads of other attendees. Additionally, a content creation kit was given to one attendee, underscoring Northstar’s mission to provide tangible value alongside knowledge exchange. This emphasis on practical tools and opportunities made the attendees feel the value they received, enhancing their overall experience.
The conference also featured impactful keynote sessions from respected leaders. Tai Ajayi Product Director at Moniepoint, in his keynote on Let’s tell the story together: Building ecosystems that scale, he emphasised that: “One of the ways to build great solutions is to move from solo genius to collective brilliance.”
Bernard Parah, Founder and CEO of Mainedge, had an interesting fireside chat with the convener, speaking on Marketing from the Point of View of a CEO, he advised: Marketing is wide and the various roles involved should be outsourced to different individuals rather than one person for effective result delivery.”
“Northstar has never been about a one-way conversation. For us, the goal is to create a platform where knowledge flows both ways, where attendees are just as important to the learning process as the speakers,” said Damilola Robert, Convener of Northstar Conference and Founder of The Growth Camp. “At the end of the day, we don’t just want attendees to leave with notes; we want them to leave with ideas, solutions, connections, and the confidence to try new things. That’s what co-creation unlocks.”
Following the resounding success of this year’s event, the Northstar Initiative is set to embark on an exciting journey of expansion. New editions are planned in vibrant locations such as Lagos, Ghana, Kenya, and London. Beyond conferences, Northstar will launch a professional learning platform in the coming year, offering both free resources and paid courses designed to connect marketing professionals globally with emerging talent across Africa. This expansion plan is set to bring the Northstar experience to new locations and audiences, creating a sense of excitement and anticipation for the future.
