Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke has congratulated renowned columnist and Saturday Tribune Editor, Dr Lasisi Olagunju, on winning the 2024 Informed Commentary Award at the 2024 Diamond Award for Media Excellence (DAME).
According to the governor, the success is yet a recognition of his incredible works and how they enrich the journalism field.
The Governor, who saluted Olagunju for his insightful and thought-provoking engagements over the years in a statement by his Spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed on Monday, noted that winning the prestigious DAME Award for a record fifth time is a remarkable feat that goes to show how much value is placed on his works in the field of journalism.
While celebrating the Saturday Editor of the Nigerian Tribune as a pride for Osun, Governor Adeleke praised his commitment to excellence and professionalism, providing a practical proof that hard work pays.
“I’m exceedingly thrilled to learn that Dr. Lasisi Olagunju has picked up the DAME Award this year. The success this year makes it the fifth time in a row that he will be so honoured, underscoring the values accorded the works of Dr. Olagunju at home and abroad,” the Governor was quoted as saying.
“I congratulate Dr. Olagunju for the honour that the award confers on him and appreciate him for spotlighting Osun positively through his works and inspire younger generations to give their best in their chosen endeavours.”
Governor Adeleke expressed hope that Olagunju’s passion for truth and informed commentary will continue to make Osun proud and inspire young people in the state and beyond to be unwavering in pursuing success in their chosen fields.
