With one month and 17 days left to go in the year 2024, the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) on Wednesday said it had met its revenue target for the year with a collection of N5,079,455,088,194.38k as of Tuesday, November 12, 2024.
Recall that the NCS, at the beginning of the year, had set a N5 trillion revenue target mark for itself for the year 2024.
Disclosing this on Wednesday during the ongoing Comptroller General of Customs Conference in Abuja, the Comptroller General of Customs, Bashir Adeniyi expressed optimism in AdveService capacity to achieve more for the economy.
Speaking on the trade facilitation strides of the service, Adeniyi said six beneficiaries of the Authorised Economic Operators (AEO) programme have been carefully selected.
He added that 21 requests have been processed under an advance ruling programme aimed at fostering quicker Custom Decision-making on import and export cargoes ahead of their arrival at the ports.
The Comptroller General also said that the Service Time Release Study has progressed the drive to 24-hour cargo clearance and reduced dwell time at the ports.
