CUSTECH: Kogi Works Commissioner inspects ongoing projects

The Kogi State Honourable Commissioner for Works, Engr. Muhammad Ahovi Yusuf has expressed satisfaction with the ongoing state-funded projects going on at the Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), Osara.

Balogun Omeiza, David Head, Public Relations Unit, CUSTECH, Osara, said in a press statement that the Commissioner made this known today at the office of the Vice Chancellor, Engr. Prof. Abdulrahman Asipita Salawu, as he paid an on-the-spot assessment visit to evaluate the level of work at the construction site within the ivory tower.

The Commissioner for Works appreciated the immediate past Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency, Alh. (Dr.) Yahaya Bello (CON), for putting the resources of the state to good use, a good administrative decision that led to the founding of CUSTECH, Osara.

The Commissioner added that the present administration of His Excellency, Alh. Usman Ahmed Ododo, which is a government of continuity, will ensure that all the projects kicked off by the previous administration are completed accordingly.

In his words, Engr. Muhammed Ahovi Yusuf said, “I am here to see that there is a continuation in the projects started by Alh. (Dr.) Yahaya Bello (CON). The present Governor, His Excellency, Alh. Usman Ahmed Ododo has sent me to ensure that none of the projects are left unattended to.”

Responding to the visiting Commissioner for Works and his entourage, the Vice Chancellor, Engr. Prof. Abdulrahman Asipita Salawu appreciated the all-important visit. He, however, appealed to those from the Kogi State Ministry of Work to give their maximum support and cooperation to the Commissioner, who is ready to speed up the completion of the projects he met on the ground.

More to the remarks made by the Vice Chancellor was his commendation of the Chinese Construction Engineering Company (CCEC), handling the construction of the internal roads within the campus, for doing a quality job.

Engr. Abdulrahaman Asipita Salawu stressed that the contractors have been mandated by His Excellency, Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo, is to hand over the completed project by April 1, 2024.

The University Registar, Ms Olufunke Hudson, the University Bursar, Mr John Alaji, the University Librarian, Mr John Alaji, and the Director, Physical Planning and Development, Bldr. Ismail Adoke, all joined the Vice Chancellor in receiving the Commissioner for Works and his entourage.
