Sen. Bassey Otu of Cross River State has paved the way for his ‘People’s First’ agenda-driven administration with the disbandment and restructuring of Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).
This was made known on Wednesday, during the swearing-in of the 31 newly appointed commissioners that would constitute the State Executive Council.
The Commissioners who took the oath of office at the Governor’s temporary office, Dan Archibong’s lodge, Calabar, have 7 women and 24 men.
The Tribune Online gathered that the Ministry of Agriculture has been disbanded, making way for the Ministry of Crop and Irrigation Development and the Ministry of Livestock, Aquaculture, and Fisheries Development.
On the other hand, other Ministries that were restructured are the Ministry of Wealth Creation and Employment, the Ministry of International Donor Coordination, and the Ministry of Establishment, Training, and Pension.
At the event, the commissioner’s portfolio was announced as follows: Mr Mike Odere, Finance; Dr Hippolatus Ogar Lukpata, International Donor; Dr Egbe Ayuk, Health; Barr. Ededem Ani, Justice; Chief Felix Idem, Local Government Affairs; Hon. Lawrencia Ita, Establishments, Training and Pension; Mr Oden Ewa, Special Duties and Intergovernmental Relations; Hon. Ankpo Pius, Works and Infrastructure; Capt. Imah Eno Utum, Aviation; Prince Eka Williams, Power and Renewable Energy; Pastor Ekpeyong Cobham, Transportation; Hon. Moses Osogi, Environment; Hon. Effiom Ekaha, Mineral Resources; Barr. Mensah Bassey, Water Resources; Sen. Stephen Odey, Education; Dr Justin Beshel, Science and Technology
