Leaders, stakeholders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Central senatorial district of Cross River State have unanimously endorsed President Bola Tinubu and Governor Bassey Otu for a second term in the 2027 general election.
The endorsement was declared during the APC stakeholders’ rally organised by the Central Progressives Initiative (CPI) in partnership with the party’s leadership.
The event, held at the Ikom Township Stadium, attracted political figures from the district, who expressed confidence in the governor’s performance.
Former Governor Clement Ebri, who presided over the meeting, conducted a voice vote that was unanimously in favour of the endorsement, signaling a unified political stance in the region.
Senator Eteng Williams, representing Cross River Central senatorial district stated that the people of the Central senatorial district were impressed with Governor Otu’s achievements and were determined to ensure his re-election to consolidate on his developmental strides.
“This overwhelming support is not just symbolic; it reflects genuine satisfaction with the governor’s delivery of democratic dividends. There is no significant opposition here—the entire Central bloc stands firmly behind this decision,” he said.
A former PDP state chairman and current member of the South-South Development Commission (SSDC), Ambassador Soni Abang, commended the early endorsement, stating that it allows for better strategic planning. He praised President Tinubu’s reforms and Governor Otu’s efforts in reducing the state’s debt burden.

Similarly, the Minister of State for Industry and former senator, John Owan Enoh, declared, “When the Central senatorial district speaks, the state listens. The message is clear that there is no vacancy for any other person in 2027. Good governance deserves continuity.”
Chairman of the APC in the state, Alphonsus Eba lauded the stakeholders for their commitment to party unity and assured them of the state chapter’s full support for the continuity of Governor Otu and President Tinubu’s leadership.
