Football superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo, has proposed to his long-term partner, Georgina Rodríguez, after nearly a decade together.
Rodríguez, 31, announced the engagement on Instagram with a photo of an enormous diamond ring, captioned in Spanish: “Yes I do. In this and in all my lives.”
Ronaldo, who is yet to publicly comment, is the most followed person on the platform.
The couple met in 2016 at a Gucci store in Madrid, where Rodríguez was working, while Ronaldo was playing for Real Madrid.
Over the years, they have built a family together, raising five children, including twins Eva Maria and Mateo, daughters Alana and Bella, and Cristiano Jr. They endured personal tragedy in April 2022 with the stillbirth of Bella’s twin brother.
Rodríguez, star of the Netflix reality series I Am Georgina, previously addressed speculation about their marital status, revealing that friends often teased her about “the ring” but that the decision was “not up to me.”
The engagement announcement has drawn congratulatory messages from celebrities including Kim Kardashian, Piers Morgan, and Lauren Sánchez-Bezos.
Now living in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where Ronaldo plays for Al-Nassr, the couple balances a high-profile lifestyle with private family time.
Reflecting on their relationship in her Netflix documentary, Ronaldo said: “After a while, I felt that she was the woman of my life.”
Rodríguez added: “I dreamed of having a Prince Charming by my side, and now I have him.”
