Court sends ex-minister’s son to Kuje prison for money laundering

Justice Nnamdi Dimgba of a Federal High Court in Abuja has just sent the son of former minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Bala Mohammed to Kuje prison till Friday when the court will rule on his bail application in the 40-count charge slammed against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The anti-graft agency has accused Shamsudeen, the son of the former FCT minister of involving in money laundering running into millions of naira when his father was a. Minister of the Federal Capital Territory.

Shamsudeen pleaded not guilty to the charges and his counsel filed an application for his bail, which was objected to by the prosecution counsel objected to.

Justice Dimgba ordered that the defendant be remanded in prison custody until Friday when the court will rule on his bail application.
