Sani was docked on charges of conspiracy, armed robbery and attempt to commit an offence of kidnapping.
The Magistrate, Zubair Inuwa, who ordered that the defendant be remanded, however, adjourned the matter till July 31 for mention.
Earlier, the prosecutor, Sgt. Yakubu Galadima, told the court that the defendant conspired with Husaini Alhaji now at large on April 19 at about 11.50 p.m. to commit the offences.
Galadima said the defendants armed themselves with dangerous weapons such as gun, cutlass and sticks and invaded the house of Amadu Bayero of Rufan village in Kano.
He added that Sani and others attacked Bayero at gun point and shot the gun in the air.
He noted that the defendants also demanded for N250,000 from the victim and threatened to kidnap him otherwise.
The prosecutor said the victim told the defendants that he had no such amount of money in his possession but they dropped their phone number with the victim and gave him two days to produce the said amount of money.
“They told the victim that failure to produce the money, they would be back to kidnap his family,” the prosecutor said.
He noted that the offences contravened sections 15, 16, 17, 18 of the Terrorism Prevention Act 2013 Amended and sections 1, 2,(a)(b) of the Robbery and Fire Arm Special Provision Act Cap LFN 2004 as Amended.
The defendant, who lives at Gomo village, Sumaila Local Government Area of Kano State, however, denied committing the offence.
