Council chairman empowers women

As part of efforts to alleviate poverty and provide economic support to the unemployed women and youths in Ona Ara Local Government Area of Oyo State and put them on the path of financial independence, the Chairman of Ona Ara Local Government Area, Hon. Temitope Kolapo, has empowered women and youths in another set of empowerment programme.

The initiative is the second batch of distribution of Free POS Machines and Hon. Kolapo stated that it is his vision to support small businesses and boost financial inclusion in the community.

He noted that the initiative is part of our “commitment to economic growth and digital empowerment, adding that the programme which is the second batch of Point of Sales (POS) machines distribution to 100 beneficiaries. He reiterated that the POS machines come with free Corporate Affairs Certificate registration.

He reiterated that his administration’s dedication to improve the living standards of people in the local government, noting that the empowerment initiative would create new avenues for financial growth and economic development of the council.

He explained that POS business is a thriving venture and implored the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the opportunity, adding that there will still be other editions of the programme till 1000 people are given POS terminals.

Some of the beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the initiative and commended Dr. Kolapo for his continued efforts to uplift the local government through impactful projects, interventions and sustainable empowerment programmes, He prayed that the chairman will be strengthened to do more for the people in the council area.
