The Coalition of South East Youth Leaders (COSEYL), the apex sociopolitical youth group in the South East geopolitical zone, has vehemently condemned the recent attacks against Sen. Orji Uzor Kalu, representing Abia North senatorial zone.
The condemnation is coming amidst unwarranted attacks emanating from different quarters in Abia State.
In a statement issued on Tuesday in Owerri by the President General of COSEYL, Comrade Goodluck Ibem, and the Publicity Secretary, Comrade Okey Nwaoru, they described the attacks as merely desperate attempts to undermine a proven leader.
The body, however, said that the attack will not deter Senator Kalu from his commitment to serving the people of Abia North and advancing the ideals of the APC.
They urged all youth and citizens in the region to stand united in their support for Senator Kalu in his quest to deliver more for our people and to further elevate the APC’s reputation.
He said: “Abia North deserves continued progress, and this can only be guaranteed through the continuity of proven, results-oriented leadership”.
According to COSEYL, it is evident that these attacks are fueled by one underlying truth adding that Seen Kalu is the face of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and is poised to lead the party to victory in the upcoming 2027 elections.
He said: “Senator Kalu is a transformative leader whose recent contributions have significantly elevated the standard of governance in Abia North.”
The group said that his dedication to public service, development initiatives, and unwavering commitment to the APC have positioned him as a beacon of hope for our people.
“As he gears up for the 2027 elections, he does so with an even greater sense of purpose and preparedness than in 2023”.
“The people of Abia North are particularly grateful for the impactful leadership of Senator Kalu. His visionary projects and proactive approach have transformed the socio-economic landscape of the region”.
The body expressed no surprise that under his leadership, they confidently predict an overwhelming 95% support for the APC in the forthcoming elections, while affirming that Senator Kalu stands out as the best performing senator from the zone since the return of democracy in 1999.
He said: “his track record of quality representation, impactful projects, legislative excellence, and direct empowerment of constituents is unmatched, his passion for service, accessibility to the people, and unwavering dedication to the progress of our zone has set a new standard for leadership”
COSEYL anticipated that the citizens of Abia North would not only rally behind Senator Kalu but would also vote massively for President Bola Tinubu, recognizing the synergy and transformative power of their leadership.
They pointed out that the accomplishments of Senator Kalu reflect the core values of the APC, inspiring trust and confidence in the party’s mission and vision for a prosperous future.
