The conference began yesterday (Thursday) and will end on Sunday.
The conference themed “Combating Corruption: Challenges and Prospects,” is also being used to commemorate the group’s 30th anniversary and public presentation of two publications, Al-fityah magazine and a compendium titled “Towards Unity, Peace and Progress.”
A statement signed by the chairman of the Local Organising Committee, Alhaji Abdul-Wahab Alwajud and National Secretary General of NACOMYO, Alhaji Binyamin Yusuf, said the formal opening holds tomorrow at the Hajj camp, Olodo, at 10 o’clock in the morning with the chairman of the Senate Committee on ICT and Cyber Crime, Senator Fatai Buari, presiding.
The Oyo State governor, Senator Ishaq Abiola Ajimobi, according to the statement, is the special guest of honour, while the guest speaker is Dr Ahmed Bello Dogarawa of the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria.
Other dignitaries expected to grace the event are the Minister of Communications, AbdurRaheem Adebayo Shitu; Deputy President-General (South), Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), Alhaji Sakariyau Babalola; the Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland, Alhaji Dawud Akinola and former Minister of Mimes and Steel Development and the Baba Adini of Yoruba land, Alhaji Sarafa Tunji Isola.
The chief presenters of the publications are the Ondo State Commissioner for Health, Alhaji Abdul Wahab Adegbenro and the National President of Nawair-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria, Alhaji Rasak Oladejo, the statement said.
It added that the chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Malam Ibrahim Magu, is expected to give a keynote address.
