Corps members deployed to Gombe state for the compulsory NYSC one year service have been debriefed and changed to be disciplined, good representation of their families and Institutions in the communities they would be posted to for the primary assignment.
While debriefing and charging the Corps members on Monday at the Temporary orientation camp in Amada, Akko LGA of the state, the State NYSC Coordinator, Mts Ada Imoni told the 2021 Batch B Stream II Corps members that.” The second phase of your service year commences tomorrow after the closing Ceremony from camp.”
“ You have been equipped for the task of nation-building on camp and I am optimistic that you will make us proud at your various places of primary assignment,” she said.
She further admonished them not to lobby for rejection but accept their postings in good faith , bearing in mind that the one year mandatory service is for National Development.
She added that if any Corps member is rejected, he or she should return to the Local Government Inspector for reposting.
The coordinator also charged them on discipline, urging them not to be rude to their employers and members of their host Communities saying that, ” Remember you are representing the NYSC, your families and your various Institutions”.
Ada Imoni further advised them to use designated motor parks to travel ,avoid night journeys, roadside vehicles and as much as possible, avoid travelling once it is 6pm.
On Community Development Service, the State Coordinator advised Corps members to strive to leave lasting legacies in their host Communities by initiating and executing viable projects .
She implored them to continue with the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development post-camp training in order to be masters of their chosen skills, adding that the training they got on camp was not conclusive.
She then stressed on the need to route all correspondences through the channel of Communication and adhere strictly to that ; The State Coordinator, through the Zonal Inspector ,through the Local Government inspector and their employer.
