The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC), on Thursday, said customers within its franchise area have continued to experience blackout as a result of grid fluctuation.
In a statement published via its twitter handle, it hinted that it is experiencing challenges in power supply due to fluctuation caused by the grid system outage.
The terse statement partly reads: “Dear esteemed customers, this is to inform you that we are currently experiencing some challenges with power supply as a result of fluctuation leading occasionally to grid system outage.
“We sincerely regret the inconveniences this may be causing our customers.”
However, the DisCo expressed hope that the challenge will be speedily resolved.
This is coming barely a day after the National Union of Electricity Employees(NUEE) declare a nationwide strike which was suspended on Thursday.
The electricity workers had, on Wednesday, shut down the headquarters of Ikeja Electric and Eko Electricity Distribution Company in Ikeja and Marina, Lagos.
President of the NUEE, Joe Ajaero in a statement, had among other issued, accused the Bureau of Public Enterprise of failing to address and pay up over 2,000 disengaged workers of the Power Holding Company of Nigeria since 2013.
He also alleged underpayment of severance of over 50,000 ex-PHCN staff and illegal transfer of schools built by the union to investors.
