The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Ugborikoko Division in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State, CSP Omosetemi Agbede-Zuokumor, has described the construction of a new ultra-modern police station under her leadership as a demanding, yet fulfilling undertaking.
Speaking at the official inauguration of the facility recently, CSP Zuokumor credited the success of the project to the support of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited (TSSNL), alongside her personal resolve to ensure the dream came to fruition.
“It was a challenging period, but I remained focused and determined to see it through,” she said.
CSP Zuokumor lauded the leadership of Tantita Security Services, particularly, chairman, High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, and the Managing Director, Kestin Ebimorbowei Pondi, for their roles.
“It is with pride and gratitude that I stand before you today as the 10th DPO of Ugborikoko Division. This moment marks a significant milestone not only for our division but also for the entire Nigeria Police Force and the community we serve,” she added.
Reflecting on the conditions she inherited upon assuming office on June 10, 2024, she described the existing infrastructure as dilapidated and unsuitable for the calibre of officers serving there. Recognising the urgent need for transformation, she reached out to her long-time friend and brother-in-law, Engr. Pondi, who fully embraced the vision of a modernised and functional police station.
The newly inaugurated station boasts a range of modern facilities, including a fully furnished gatehouse accommodating the Special Investigation Bureau (SIB), surveillance and station guard offices, a renovated divisional hall, two Hilux patrol vehicles, stamped concrete flooring, a 30 KVA inverter and a 30 KVA Mikano generating sets.
Also unveiled were sophisticated security cameras equipped with ultra-clear monitors, a fully equipped interrogation room in line with the Administration of Criminal Justice Act and a tactical conference room designed to enhance operational efficiency.
“With these state-of-the-art installations, our officers are better equipped to serve Uvwie Local Government Area and environs with increased professionalism and efficiency,” CSP Zuokumor noted.
She praised the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun for his visionary leadership, and the Delta State Commissioner of Police, Olufemi Abaniwonda, for entrusting her with the responsibility of heading the division and offering consistent support throughout the project.
At the event, she launched a new initiative — the Security Education Advocates Campaign — in collaboration with prominent Nigerians, including Ambassador Edewor Egedegbe of the Value Rebirth and Empowerment Initiative and Ambassador (Mrs) Onyi Ikemefuna of the Sharmar Educational Foundation.
The campaign, which began on January 13 at Delta Career College, has since reached several schools across Warri South, Okpe and Uvwie local government areas. Its mission is to educate and reorient young Nigerians, encouraging them to shun crime and substance abuse.
CSP Zuokumor also expressed appreciation to her husband, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Kevin Zuokumor for his guidance and technical support throughout the process.
