A middle aged woman, Mrs. Opeyemi Cappa, who was recently delivered of a set of triplets in the Lisa community, Ogun state, is calling on the state government and well meaning Nigerians to come to her aid and help her financially as she is financially unable to care for the triplets.

Mrs Cappa who said her situation would have been easier if she had a helper explained that she is financially handicapped and the father of the triplets who should be her companion in the situation has fled.

“Our situation wasn’t that good before so when I had the triplets, I knew there was trouble but the situation got more hopeless when my husband who was jobless ran away when he heard that I was delivered of triplets.

According to her, it was after due persuasion of the people living in the community and the intervention of the traditional ruler of Lisa community, the husband came back home.

“Let me start by thanking the woman who delivered me of the babies. Since I could not afford the medical bill, I had to seek the assistance of traditional midwife. It was later she told me she was aware that the babies would be triplets. She said she deliberately did not let me know so that I will not be unnecessarily worried.

“Right now, things are really tough, whatever assistance that can come from anybody will be appreciated. I thank Baale of Lisa, the community leaders and other people who have been helping out.”

Commenting on the development, the Baale of Lisa Chief Oladele Odugbemi said the birth of the triplet was uncommon, calling on well meaning Nigerians to assist the family.

He added immediately information came to him on the birth of the babies, he mobilized to ensure the babies received adequate medication.

“When information reached that a matron had matron delivered the lady of triplets in Lisa community, I made the necessary contacts. This is the first time in Lisa when triplet will be delivered the community was founded almost 200 years ago.

“My dad had set of twins but nobody has triplet so far. I have not heard of any family with such a record. So, we I heard it and given the economic situation in the country, we had to move in. I asked her what she needed urgently, especially medication to stabilize them very well.

“This is what I am supposed to do as the leader of the community. I equally mobilized some of the philanthropists who are my friends that they should come to the assistance of the parent of the triplets.  My village is a poor village, we are not rich and we are also begging the Government of Ogun State to give us a health centre.

“We are soliciting goodwill of the philanthropists in Ogun State and those outside the state. The government should be in the forefront because it is the father of all. We are call on our governor Senator Ibikunle Amosun to come to the aid of the Cappa family.”
