THE unveiling of the new headquarters of Regency Alliance Insurance Plc in Lagos signifies a significant milestone in the company’s ongoing journey in the sector, reflecting its commitment to enhancing service delivery for both the insured and industry stakeholders.
This was disclosed by the Commissioner for Insurance (CFI), and CEO of the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM), Mr. Olusegun Omosehin, during the commissioning ceremony of the company’s new Head Office in Lagos recently.
The CFI, who was represented by Mr. Abel Omokade, an Assistant Director from NAICOM Lagos offices commended the tireless efforts of the board and management of Regency Alliance in bringing the project to fruition.
The former Governor of Ogun State, Gbenga Daniel, in his remarks, praised the company’s achievement, saying, “For a company to invest in a structure of this magnitude speaks volumes about its vision and commitment”.
Senator Ibikunle Amosun acknowledged the longevity and pedigree of Regency Alliance, crediting the company’s management for their resilience and forward-thinking approach.
He expressed confidence that, like the banking sector, insurance has the potential to become a major economic driver for Nigeria.
Prince Babatunde Oguntade, President of the Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers (NCRIB), also expressed satisfaction with Regency Alliance’s growth and assured continued support from brokers in the industry.
The President of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN), Mrs. Yetunde Ilori, lauded the company’s efforts, noting that the headquarters is situated in a prime location within Lagos, and serves as a proud symbol for the entire insurance sector.
She highlighted Regency Alliance’s success in driving insurance awareness across West Africa, particularly with its involvement in the ECOWAS Brown Card initiative.
Ilori urged investors to recognize the potential of the insurance industry, which, she said, has proven its reliability in paying claims and offering a robust opportunity for investment, especially as the sector moves forward with recapitalisation efforts, like the banking industry.
Mr. Biyi Otegbeye, Founder and former Group Managing Director of Regency Alliance Insurance, extended his gratitude to all the dignitaries, clients, management, staff, and stakeholders, affirming the company’s commitment to continuous growth and success.
The management said the landmark event reflects Regency Alliance Insurance’s vision of a bright future for the Nigerian insurance industry that sets the stage for further expansion and innovation in the sector.
Among the guests present were former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Babagana Kingibe, who was the Chairman of the occasion; Senator Ibikunle Amosun; former Ogun State Governor, Gbenga Daniel; and first-class traditional chiefs.
Also present were key representatives from the NAICOM, CIIN, NCRIB, as well as CEOs of insurance companies and brokers.
