The Coalition of Nigerian Youth Leaders (CONYL), the umbrella body of all the youth groups drawn across the six geopolitical zones, has expressed their unalloyed support and commendation for the exceptional work done by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, under the able leadership of Hon Ahmed M. Dangiwa, in providing housing for vulnerable citizens in the country.
In a statement issued on Friday in Owerri by the President General of CONYL, Comrade Goodluck Ibem, he said that the programme has significantly contributed to the betterment of society by offering housing solutions for those most in need, which, according to him, is a commendable effort that should be recognised.
The youth body said that the Ministry has shown remarkable dedication in ensuring that vulnerable groups, such as low-income families, the elderly, and persons with disabilities, are given access to secure, affordable, and sustainable housing.
He said, “Through the implementation of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda Housing Project strategic policy and initiative, the Ministry has made tremendous strides in alleviating the burden of homelessness and improving the living standards of many citizens who previously had limited access to decent shelter.”
The PG pointed out that the housing programme not only promotes social equity but also contributes to the overall well-being and dignity of the beneficiaries, fostering a sense of stability and empowerment.
According to him, by prioritising the vulnerable population, the President and the Ministry are advancing the national goals of poverty reduction, social justice, and inclusive growth.
He said, “It is clear that this housing initiative is not just about providing physical infrastructure but also about creating opportunities for a better quality of life, where every citizen, regardless of their background, can live with dignity and security.”
Ibe explained that the commitment shown by the Ministry in addressing the housing needs of the vulnerable is truly praiseworthy, adding that it demonstrates the government’s dedication to improving the living conditions of its citizens.
The body, however, urged all and sundry to continue supporting this vital programme and to spread awareness about the positive impact it has on our communities and nation.
CONYL said: “The successful implementation of these housing policies is a testament to the President’s vision and the hard work of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, which deserves the full support of all Nigerians.”
