As the world gets ready to celebrate the African child on June 16, Coal City art exhibition has concluded plans to join in identifying with the African child and proffer solutions to some of the challenges facing them.

The Coal City art exhibition in its third edition, which holds at Palms Polo Park Mall Enugu State, according to the curator and project custodian, Oarhe Ohis, is aimed at creating awareness to the poor living condition of many African child and the need for continuing improvement in education.

Identifying the problems of the African child at three, Oarhe hinted that lack of education, child labour and hunger are some of the major problems affecting the progress of the African child, adding that every African must begin to identify with the children around them and encourage them to live a normal life.

Speaking on why the exhibition was concerned about the problem of children in Africa and how he intends to use entertainment and art to tackle the menace, Oarhe disclosed that the exhibition would use art works from young, underground, unknown, selected artist and professionals across Nigeria to tell relatable stories that will evoke passion and sympathy.

“We intend to invite art lovers across the country for the special edition even as Ghills Entertainment will feature painting, drawing, hyper-realism, mixed media, textile, sculpture and body painting.”

The two-day exhibition will feature 20 exhibitors and have a brochure containing all the works exhibited.
