Speaking during the formal distribution of seedlings, the Zamfara State coordinator of NEPC, Alhaji Yusuf Ismail disclosed that the new improved groundnut seed has a brand name, Samnuts 24.

“There are types of groundnut seeds that comprise 21 and 22, but now a new and improved seedling named Samnuts 24 is now the best for groundnut farmers.

“The aim of NEPC is to have a groundnut cluster farming with improved product at the end of the harvest.

“We want, at the end of the harvest, the improved groundnut seed Samnuts 24 to be the same for all the farmers in the community. It’s our belief that the product (groundnuts) is going to be marketable for export,” he stated.

The Zamfara State NEPC Coordinator explained further that their aim is to find buyers of the best products after harvest and advised the benefiting community to form an association of groundnut farmers in the area.
