Church leaders pay last respect as Reverend Badejo goes home

The venue of the funeral service for the late former General Overseer, Foursquare Church in Nigeria, Reverend Wilson Badejo, Jelili Omotola Multipurpose Hall, University of Lagos, last Friday, was filled with notable church leaders and dignitaries from all walks of life as they converged to pay their last respect to the revered cleric widely regarded as a great church builder.

Some of the church leaders and dignitaries who graced the event include, the General Overseer, Foursquare Gospel Church in Nigeria, Reverend Samuel Aboyeji; his wife Reverend Mrs Olabisi; immediate past General Overseer of Foursquare Gospel Church in Nigeria, Reverend Felix Meduoye; representative of vice president Yemi Osinbajo, Senior Special Assistant, Pastor Seyi Malomo; Vice Chancellor, University of Lagos, Professor Oluwatoyin Ogundipe; former president, Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria and General Superintendent, Gospel Light International Ministries,  Reverend (Dr.)  Felix Omobude; founder, Fountain of Life Church,  Pastor Taiwo Odukoya; Chief (Mrs) Bola Obasanjo; Deputy National President, Christian Association of Nigeria, Archbishop Praise Daniel; Secretary, CAN, Lagos Chapter, Reverend Father Mathew Oguntuwase and other church leaders.

Speaking on the deceased, Reverend (Dr.) Felix Omobude described the late former General Overseer, Reverend Badejo as a blazing light who impacted greatly on the growth of the gospel in Nigeria.

Omobude, during his message at the funeral service for Badejo, added that, “Reverend Badejo was a blazing light. Very simple, focused strong, a voice of the kingdom and an ambassador of Christ.

“He knew his candle was burning so he worked so hard to accomplished all he wanted to do in life. Badejo believed that there was no problem without solution. He fought gallantly for the kingdom of God.”

Also speaking at the event, Pastor Odukoya, extolled the leadership quality of Reverend Badejo, describing him as a true man of God who touched many lives and planted many churches, adding that, “He was known as a church planter. He worked hard to expand the Foursquare Gospel Church in Nigeria during his tenure.”
