He stated this in a message, in which he called on Christians to always be conscious of heaven and work towards attaining the kingdom of God.

He cautioned against backsliding in religion, noting that there would be no excuse on the Judgement Day, and admonished Nigerians to shun sins.
He also prayed to God to grant Nigeria desired peace, joy and progress.
