Chief Ignatius Ifemene has emerged as the President-General of all Igbo-speaking towns and communities residing in Bauchi State.
The new President-General emerged unopposed during the election conducted at Larema Hotel and Suites in Bauchi on Sunday.
Other executive members who also emerged unopposed included Dr Okolo Christopher Chuks – Vice President-General; Igwe Calistus – Assistant Secretary-General; Onwuha Okechukwu – Internal Auditor; Monday Amaliku Mike – Assistant Internal Auditor; Emmanuel Nnadozie – Chief PRO1; and Ndubueze Agu – Assistant PRO.
Those who won by consensus are Sunday Nneli – Assistant Financial Secretary; Anselem Osi – Provost II; Anthony Ifeacho – Welfare Officer; and Ejim Ikenna David – Assistant Welfare Officer. Meanwhile, Nobel Elekwanchi, Samuel Okah, and Solomon Ushi were elected as General Secretary, Treasurer, and Chief Provost respectively.
In his acceptance speech, the new President-General, Chief Ignatius Ifemene, urged members of the Igbo community to continue promoting unity, peaceful coexistence, harmonious relationships, and love among themselves and with the host community.
According to him, “The election is over, and it is time for us all to work for the development and upliftment of our community in Bauchi. Let all of us join hands and rally around my administration to forge a united front to take ICB to greater heights.”
